The leather on this backpack is so so nice. It is extra thick and durable, but so soft to the touch. You can tell by touching it that it will last a very long time. The bag is in overall lovely condition - there are some very minor surface scuffs on the exterior leather. This bag is clean and in overall great shape. the interior of the bag is clean, the hardware all works well and it is mostly just gently used. the leather is such high quality this bag will wear slowly over time. a great item by Coach
